‘How to’ Tips from Peita Gregory Makeup

How to match back your makeup with Leina Broughton’s Neutral and Black outfits.........

Hue’s of deep red, burnt orange, coppers and brown awash the tree tops around us at this time of the year. So take inspiration from nature and incorporate tones of warm browns, coppers and gold into your make up look. This will add interest to a neutral or black outfit.

Neutral

When wearing something neutral try putting a wash of warm brown or gold over your eyelids. Or wear at the same time by blending one into the other making sure it’s the edge is seamless. First use a gold over the entire lid then place the brown in the socket of the lid to add depth. Finish with lining the eye with a dark brown pencil and a slick of mascara on the top and bottom lashes.

Black

Be inspired by the beautiful red shades of Autumn and smooth on a red, plum or berry lip. If lips aren’t your thing line your eyes with a plum or purple pencil and smudge softly around the eyes for a different take on the smokey eye.

The lounge top – this organic cotton striped top is silky soft with a scoop neck which allows you to wear it off the shoulder for a sexy look. It has a wide waist band and plenty of fabric to allow for rushing and to avoid showing any of the winter tummy area….mmmm pass me another hot chocolate please!

Transeasonal Begins...

I love this time of year when the temperature cools down just enough to wear a stylish jacket but not too cold to have to pull out the coats and boots.

In the new April mini collection I introduced the cropped trench, which is a lightweight jacket that can be easily folded up in your bag.

I love a black jacket – classic, easy to match, slimming and sheek. On an overcast evening or day the cream feels so fresh and works brilliantly back with colorful accessories.

So to work the cream jacket and bring in the color....

The next couple of combos are a great look for lunch with friends, a wander through the markets on a Sunday morning or a beautiful wandering day through the city.

Try a soft green scarf worn back with a contrast chunky resin ring......

While it is still warm and fine with just the jacket try a burnt orange bag worn with a colorful beaded long necklace.

So to work the black jacket...

I always think if you want to bring out the black jacket keep it sleek, simple and sexy. The bright color combo shown above still works with black but is not nearly as sophisticated as with the cream. A slim fitted jacket looks great back with a slim pant. A strong look for during the day and then easily transitioned into a super sexy look for red wine and tapas at your favourite wine bar.

My hot tip with the black?
Make it work with a make-up transition.
Peita, I loved the tips on the natural look in the Beauty Breakdown! Excited to hear how to master an easy transition for this look :-)

Happy Friday!
Best,
